System Overview

The standard Koi Watch package consists of the following items:

• Microprocessor controlled Koi Watch unit - Photo
• Power supply adaptor
• Dedicated Nokia mobile phone including charger and phone cable (SIM not included) - Photo
• Mains time switch - Photo
• 12 meter Carel 316 stainless steel temperature probe - Photo
• 12 meter drop float switch (Standard and/or Extended) - Photo Std, Photo Ext

Note - The temperature probe and float switch cables can be extended up to 30 meters if required.  We would be happy to do this free of charge.  Optional extras such as flood sensors, additional float switches, etc are also available.  Please contact us to discuss your specific monitoring requirements.

An overview of a typical Koi Watch system is shown below:

Koi Watch monitors water temperature and level through the connected temperature probe and float switches.  Internally Koi Watch also monitors its own power supply.  Koi Watch will run from an on-board battery backup and send out an alert should it no longer receive power.  The dedicated mobile phone is connected to Koi Watch via a cable.  The mobile phones' charger is connected to the mains via a time switch.  The time switch is set to 'turn on' twice a day ensuring the phone battery is kept charged.  Koi Watch reads configuration parameters from the phone (stored as phone book entries) to configure itself.  It also uses the dedicated mobile phone to send out alerts and status messages to the target phone.  See the Koi Watch manual for more information on system operation.
